The talent on tonight’s episode of ‘X Factor’ was mostly out of control, and Simon Cowell was super-gushy toward everyone, prompting me to think that the soon-to-be dad is starting to get in touch with his innermost sweet feelings. He even gave someone a second shot — what?!
The first yes of the night went to a rugged South Carolina high school senior, 18-year-old Andrew Scholz. He was so handsome, in fact, that it distracted the female judges a bit at first, will Kelly Rowland calling him a “Corn-fed country boy” with a look of love in her eyes! However, when he sang “Too Close,” it was more country boy at a karaoke bar and the ladies were hesitant — making Andrew sadly look like he just lost the vote for prom king.
However, Simon totally loved him and said he’d be “crazy to let go,” so when Andrew sang the country song “A Little More You,” he was way more convincing and totally rocked it, making it unanimous!
Stone Martin was another dreamy teen from South Carolina with Justin Bieber‘s hair and One Direction‘s soul who sang “Little Things” with such charm and 14-year-old likability that Demi Lovato loved it and Paulia Rubio said, “Your life is about to change forever.” Woohoo!
The next singer was the seemingly meek Ellona Santiago from California — but as soon as she opened her mouth to sing “Wings,” she absolutely blew the judges away! Kelly said that she meant business and Simon was beaming and said, “You’re the girl I want to work with most in the competition.” She had previously auditioned the first season — but got a yes this time around!
Ashly Williams was the stabdout of the night to me, blowing the judges and audience away with the impossiby hard to nail “I Will Always Love You.” She totally nailed it though, and was so good that Simon remarked, “This is why we brought the show to America — to find someone like you.” The competition is really heating up!
