From longer, flowing skirts with unexpected slits to sexy crop tops paired with high-waisted shorts and trousers, the designer sent chic summer looks down the runway — and we think they’ll look amazing on a slew of stars!
Michael Kors‘ Spring 2014 collection was the perfect juxtaposition between sexy and sweet; soft and strong. There were structured, leather tops paired with a-line minis while longer, pleated skirts featured thigh-high slits on both sides, adding an unexpected hint of leg to the looks. The designer reinvented the basic staples in a way that made them seem so covetable. Flirty, high-waisted shorts paired with bandeau tops, cozy cardigans, and high-waisted bikinis were all the rage.
Michael Kors Spring 2014 Collection:
Personally I thought practically each and every look was totally wearable and could easily be incorporated into a spring and summer wardrobe. From the styles to the shades that came down the runway, the designer’s spring collection was so cohesive. While some of the silhouettes, (like the shirtdresses and pencil skirts), were totally classic there was a flirty and fun vibe throughout the collection, really adding a refreshing, romantic twist to the line that made it totally covetable. It felt effortless and easily could be dressed up or down — and I loved the fact that Fleetwood Mac’s “Never Going Back Again” was playing while the looks came down the runway.
The pencil skirts and bandeau tops would be perfect for photocalls and parties for young stars, (and crop top enthusiasts!), like Selena Gomez and Lily Collins, while the preppy, high-waisted shorts and tailored shirts along with the high-waisted bikinis just screamed Taylor Swift.
