You tell them, Dakota! Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith’s daughter is ready to fight back against those who think she’s not right for the role of Anastasia Steele.
Welcome to the Red Room of Pain, Dakota Johnson. After the news broke that Dakota landed the much-anticipated role of Anastasia Steele in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, critics went wild! However, we’ve exclusively learned that she’s looking forward to proving the haters wrong!
Dakota Johnson: The Backlash Does Hurt
While we couldn’t be happier with the casting of submissive Ana, not everyone is as pleased.
Dakota’s doing her best not to let all the mean comments get to her because she knows that it goes with the territory but still, some of the things people have been saying are pretty awful — especially the stuff about her looks. Thank God they’re being just as awful about Charlie [Hunnam] because at least she’s not alone. They’re bonding over it and laughing about it. She’s sensitive so obviously it hurts, but at the end of the day this role is a dream come true for her, she really wants to do an amazing job and prove all the haters wrong.
Melanie Griffith Proud Of Daughter, Dakota
On Sept. 2, Melanie Griffith took to Twitter to express that she couldn’t be more happy for her daughter and the epic role she landed!
“My beautiful child Dakota has been chosen to play Anna Steele in 50 Shades!!! Look out world! Here she comes!!! #proudmama,” Melanie tweeted.
Aww, we’re loving the support from mama! Even though the role is an extremely risqué one, it’s awesome to see that Melanie’s one hundred percent behind her girl!
