With exactly one month until the fifth season of Glee premieres on Fox, new information is slowly being revealed about the Oct. 10 tribute to Cory Monteith. Along with the episode’s title — it’s reportedly being called “The Quarterback” — HollywoodLife.com has gathered some scoop from a show insider about what we can expect from the Finn-centric hour.
“The tribute show is really coming along,” our source says. “From the scenes we’ve seen and have been involved in, they haven’t revealed much on how Finn has died.”
That certainly coincides with creator Ryan Murphy‘s recent interview, in which he said the cause of Finn’s death will not be directly addressed. Though he originally considered giving the character the same death as the actor, Ryan ultimately decided to leave it ambiguous.
“The [episode] is more of a celebration of Cory’s life, and the difference he made to us and the fans of the show,” our insider adds. “As much as it will be [part of the Glee season], it also feels like a stand-alone episode.”
Our insider also reveals that the Glee crew is taking extra precautions to make sure as much of the episode remains under wraps as possible.
“They filmed scenes with a limited crew, and we think they’ve filmed multiple endings and scenarios,” one insider suggests. “Everyone’s scripts at the end of the day have been taken back, and its been [kept] secret about what is being filmed — even to some of the crew.”
Of course, not everything can be kept secret. For example, Lea Michele recently tweeted a picture of herself wearing a “Finn” necklace on set, much like the “Cory” necklace that she wears herself.
HollywoodLifers, are you looking forward to Glee‘s Cory tribute? What do you hope to see? Drop a comment with your thoughts on the episode below.
