Beyonce‘s sense of style and self is fierce. When the singer Instagrammed a pic of her new pixie cut on Aug. 7, even her choreographer, Chris Grant, was shocked! But Chris, who has been working with Beyonce for six years, developing the dance moves that leave you mesmerized, tells HollywoodLife.com that her shorter style actually makes the tour better.
We spoke to Chris, who is one of the masterminds behind her Pepsi commercial, and he revealed to HollywoodLife.com what his first thought was when he saw Beyonce’s new look.
“I was shocked but at the same time it’s her!” he told us while promoting Pepsi’s Dance For A Chance contest. “She always does things to blow you out of the water. I found out like everyone else on Twitter!”
But Chris says that Beyonce’s new short hair means she has to work a little bit harder and sweat a little more when shaking those hips on stage.
“She can still move [her hair] and swing it,” Chris says. “And you can always make it fit with what you’re doing. She looks great with short hair and great with long hair. It doesn’t hurt her performance. It actually makes her perform even harder! So she has to move her head even harder to make it move and that’s what I love! She knows what she’s doing.”
Chris didn’t only work on the tour, he was approached by Pepsi, to choreograph a music video for eight lucky fans who won the chance to fly to NYC, attend a concert, meet Beyonce, and star in their own music video for the singer!
“I was honored they had me be part of this experience,” he said. “She has such incredible fans and great to be part of this iconic moment with Pepsi and Beyonce. It’s something I will never forget.”
