We aren’t the only ones who are psyched that Breaking Bad is back. It seemed the entire world — celebrities included — tuned in to the mid-season premiere on August 11, which had tons of stars gasping for air on Twitter before, during, and after a stunning, exciting episode that kicked off the final eight episodes of the series.
Even before the episode started, celebrities were tweeting and getting amped up for the premiere. Rihanna was hurrying to catch up on the show so she could see the premiere live. Humorously posting an Instagram pic of herself looking nervous and anxious, RiRi wrote, “This is my ‘BREAKING BAD IS ON TONIGHT, AND I STILL HAVE 3 EPISODES LEFT BEFORE I CAN WATCH IT’ face.”
Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel was also trying to catch up right before the premiere: “Quick, someone recap 5th season of breaking bad for me! I have 17 mins until season 6 starts & I’m struggling to remember. cc: @aaronpaul_8.”
Chris Hardwick, host of Talking Dead, revved up the excitement: “Here we go…it’s Breaking Bad time…you will not be disappointed…”
Rebecca Black tweeted, “if you love breaking bad we are automatically soulmates no questions asked.”
NBA star Harrison Barnes was definitely excited, writing, “Breaking Bad tonight #bestshowout.”
And just before the show started Timbaland tweeted, “#breakingbad time #amc.”
But the best reactions came during and after the episode premiered. Ben Stiller liked the Star Trek comic relief conversation that happened in the middle of the episode, tweeting, “The Star Trek discussion in Breaking Bad was almost too much to take. Never thought ‘Quatloos’ would be mentioned on Breaking Bad. #toogood.”
But most stars could NOT believe that Walter White (Bryan Cranston) actually confronted Hank (Dean Norris), telling him to “tread lightly” during the episode’s climax. “Woah #breakingbad,” former Breaking Bad star Krysten Ritter tweeted.
Aaron Paul, who plays Jesse on the show, tweeted, “Tread lightly #BreakingBad.”
Sports host Jenn Brown wrote, “Breaking Bad…best show on TV Period,” and comedian Jon Lajoie agreed, tweeting, “The beer I’m drinking is good, but the season premiere of Breaking Bad is probably much better.”
Vinny Guadagnino of Jersey Shore was probably the star who was most impressed by the premiere: “#BreakingBad already incredible and it’s the first episode . #finalepisodes.”
And finally, actress Mindy Kaling summed up the day-after-Breaking-Bad experience perfectly, tweeting, “If you didn’t see breaking bad tonight, tomorrow you better take your spoilers like a man.”
She’s spot on. Breaking Bad is just too good for us not to talk about! The intense first episode picked up right where it left off, and it’s got us extremely excited to see the final seven episodes.
