Lea Michele made her first public appearance since the tragic death of her boyfriend and Glee costar Cory Monteith at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards on August 11, where she gave an incredible and emotional speech. No-one was more touched than Harry Styles, who began weeping as she thanked her fans for all their support.
Lea, 26, made an appearance at the show with her Glee co-stars at Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles, where she gave a powerful and heartbreaking speech about Cory.
The entire audience was moved, but none more than Harry, 19. As Lea spoke, tears visibly welled up in his eyes, and his pal Ed Sheeran had to comfort him. Tia and Tamera Mowry also appeared to be welling up as Lea gave the most perfect tribute to her late boyfriend, who sadly passed on July 13.
Who knew Harry was such a sensitive soul? This makes him even more boyfriend-worthy material.
Harry previously met Cory, and on the day of his death he tweeted “the first tweet I read today was ‘Cory Monteith died’, no words can express how sad i am. it’s so hard to believe. #RipCoryMonteith.”
After the Glee cast took home the award for Choice TV Show: Comedy, Lea was presented with Choice Actress.
“Thank you guys,” she began tearfully, as her “Cory” necklace was on full display. “I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out here how much all of your love and support as meant to me over these past few weeks. Not that I had any doubt before, but we certainly do have the greatest fans in the world. I want to dedicate this award to Cory.”
“For all of you out there who loved Cory as much as I did — I promise you we’ll get through this together. He was very special to me and also to the world, and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or as Finn, he reached out and became a part of all of our hearts. So thank you guys so much.”
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Did you think Harry is adorable for crying?
