Jonathan Groff, who is currently working on his new film The Normal Heart in New York City, reportedly knew that he needed to be with his BFF Lea Michele after her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, was found dead on July 13.
Jonathan, 28, allegedly had the production team cancel filming so he could rush to Lea’s side and support her.
“I was really sad for Lea. My friend in New York is working as a stage hand on the set of The Normal Heart with Jonathan Groff and he told me they canceled filming so that Jonathan could go be with her,” a source, who knows someone working on the film with Jonathan, told USA TODAY.
Cory, Lea and Jonathan, who were all good friends, were last photographed together on June 18. Lea uploaded the pic to her Twitter account and posted the caption, “Me and my two favorite boys:).”
Lea, 26, can use all the support she can get. A source close to the actress tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively:
“Lea is going through hell right now. She had her whole life planned with Cory — he was her prince charming. Even though he hadn’t proposed yet, Lea was positive they were going to get married and have kids together, there was no doubt in her mind that Cory was her soulmate. When he went to rehab, she was under a lot of pressure to end it with him — but that wasn’t even an option for her, she said she would never leave him, she couldn’t imagine her life without him. And since Cory came out of rehab, he seemed to be doing great. She thought everything was okay with him again — everyone did. I really don’t know how she’s going to get over this, it’s just an inconceivable loss.”
We only wish the best for her in recovering from this loss. Our thoughts are with Lea and all of Cory’s loved ones at this difficult time.
