Please don’t let this fashion trend end too soon! We love the 1920s-inspired style and so does this timeless actress. See SJP get her Gatsby on & tell us if you loved the look!
Sarah Jessica Parker, 48, experimented with time travel at The Serpentine Gallery Summer Party in London on June 26. She looked effortlessly cool and ready to get her party on in a fringed frock. Would she fit in at one of Jay Gatsby’s iconic 1920s parties? We certainly think so!
Sarah Jessica Parker’s Flapper Dress:
In a gorgeous Naeem Khan dress, actress Sarah Jessica Parker proves she’s still got that Carrie Bradshaw style we’ve always loved her for. Sex and the City may be long gone but The Great Gatsby just made a comeback and brought some serious fashion inspiration with it. The actress and fashionista has taken note of the flapper girl craze and we love her look!
The designer dress was made up of silver and gold beaded fringe and a nude tulle bodice. It’s from the designer’s Resort 2014 collection but it looks like it’s from another time period. The sheer top of the frock made it seem strapless, but it was actually a high-neck racerback dress which was much more conservative and classy for the star. Sarah paired her frock with black pointy pumps, a black satchel and a long sparkly necklace that matched her flapper style. She kept her hair down and straight but amped up her eye makeup with a dark smokey eye. She also donned several bracelets and a pair of sparkly earrings. With so much going on, (and so much bling!), we’re glad she kept her hair simple and didn’t opt for some kind of Gatsby-esque wavy bob. Rocking 1920s hair may have just been a little too over the top. Of course SJP already knew that, and she looked like a modern flapper in her fun, sexy dress.
What do you think of this roaring 20s style? Too cliche or a look you can’t wait to recreate?
