Watch Paula Deen’s emotional explanation and passionate apology on ‘Today,’ following her use of the N-word.
Paula Deen appeared on Today on June 26, to discuss the recent allegations that she is a racist. Paula was fired from The Food Network because she used an offensive racial slur towards African Americans, and in her new interview she apologizes and breaks down in tears when pleading that she is not a racist. Watch the video here.
Host Matt Lauer interviewed the celebrity chef about her previous use of the N-word, and the reports that she is a racist. Paula apologized and strongly insisted she is not a racist.
The main reason I am here today is, it’s important to me that I tell you and everyone out there, what I believe, and how I live my life. I believe that every creature on this earth, every one of God’s creatures was created equal. I believe that everyone should be treated equal. That’s the way I was raised, and that’s the way I live my life.
I am here today because I want people to know who I am, and people that have worked beside me, have walked beside me, know what kind of person I am. And I am so distressed. People that I have never heard of are now experts of who I am.
I have apologized. I would never, never with any intention have hurt anyone on purpose, and I never would.
“No, no I’m not, no,” Paula said when she was point blank asked if she was a racist.
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Do YOU think Paula is sorry? Do YOU believe her when she says she is not a racist?
