After watching him at the MMVAs, we can’t help but admit: We love PSY!
Going into the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards, I had my doubts about PSY‘s abilities to co-host one of summer’s biggest award shows. After all, isn’t there more to hosting than doing the same dumb-ass dance over and over? And over? Well, color me wrong, because PSY totally made this year’s MMVAs what it was: two hours of over-the-top, energetic fun!
Mover Over, Beyoncé, Here Comes PSY!
I already mentioned this in my “Best Moments” roundup, but it’s worth talking about again: PSY’s re-creation of Beyoncé‘s “Single Ladies” dance was epic. As someone who has attempted the same moves in my bedroom mirror many times — I mean, what? — I can say it’s not an easy dance to nail; and PSY totally nailed it.
He even made it adorable, calling it the “PSY-ngle Ladies” dance! He’s totally winning me over; I’ve almost completely forgotten about that time he wished death upon all Americans!
PSY Performs ‘Gangnam Style’ & Gentleman’
And what better way to begin and end the big show than with high-energy performances of PSY’s North American hits, “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman!” Hidden behind his trademark sunglasses, PSY had the crowd screaming for more of his ridiculous horsey dance. And, oh boy, did he deliver.
