Naomi Watts Cannes

Naomi looked absolutely stunning at a party at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19 — we got her hairstylist and makeup artist to spill on her exact look!

The Impossible star Naomi Watts looks amazing on every red carpet, but we especially loved the retro glamour look she rocked in France on May 19. Here’s how you can get her exact look as described by the artists who created her magnificent beauty!

Naomi Watts’ Cannes Beauty — Get Her Wavy Hair Look

Celebrity hairstylist Giannandrea created the hairstyle and breaks down the look below:

“Begin by applying ECRU New York Marine Thickening Balm throughout wet hair to create overall volume. Create a deep side part and blow dry the hair on the side with the part backward and the other side forward toward the face.

Once hair is dry, divide it into small sections and use a small curling iron to create waves. Spray each section with Sunlight Styling Spray to set the waves.

After the head is completely waved, brush the hair downward multiple times to bring together the waved sections. Smooth Ecru Silk Texturizing Balm throughout hair to create shine and definition.

Lastly, brush hair once more and shape into finger waves with hands. Set the waves with long clips for 15 minutes. Finish the style by removing the clips and setting in place with Sunlight Finishing Spray MAX.”

Naomi’s Makeup — The Inspiration Behind The Look

Celebrity makeup artist Georgie Eisdell tells about the inspiration: “For Naomi, I wanted to keep her makeup fresh with a little French influence.”

“I prepped her skin with La Mer Regenerating Serum and then La Mer Soft Cream. To even out her skin tone and create a flawless base, I used CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Skin Perfecting Makeup, taking the edge of the shine with La Mer The Powder.  For a little color and contour to her face with Bobbi brown Bronzer in Medium , and finally I added illumination to the skin with CHANEL Mouche De Beaute Poudre Illuminating Powder.

On her cheeks I used Bobbi Brown Cream Blush in Pale Pink to create depth and a flushed cheek. Then for a pop of color i added a wash of Laura Mercier Second Skin Color in Lotus Pink to the apples of the cheeks.

For Naomi’s eyebrows I wanted to keep them soft but structured so I used Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Blonde and extended the brows slightly to shape the face.

I kept the lids very light but illuminated. I used MAC Amber Lights Eyeshadow on the lash line blending up just a little to give a beautiful highlight. I then brought a little of the shadow under her eye to open them up.  Naomi has beautiful eyes so I wanted to enhance the shape so I used MAC Carbon Eyeshadow, dampening my eyeliner brush so the shadow would turn into a soft liner and give the eye definition and depth. I lined the eye on the outer corner and gave the ends a slight flick for a flirtatious finish to the eye.  I finished the eye off with two layers of YSL Faux Cil Mascara in Black.

“Her lips were the main focus of this look. I used CHANEL Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Sensuelle for a gorgeous raspberry pout.”
