Spoiler alert! If you did not see the season finale of Arrow then stop reading! If you did see it, you are probably still weeping after watching Oliver/Arrow (Stephen Amell) say goodbye to someone very special. All hell broke loose in Starling City when Malcolm Merlyn’s (John Barrowman) device explodes in the Glades, and falling debris kills…
Tommy (Colin Donnell)!
After being trapped and left to die by Malcolm, Oliver escaped and killed him in a dramatic fight. He confronted his mother (Susanna Thompson) who admits that she and Malcolm planted bombs to destroy the Glades, and while one was dismantled, Malcolm admitted that there was another before he died.
After he saved Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and confessed his love for her, Tommy was hit by falling rubble and died in the arms of Oliver, who lied and told him he didn’t kill his father, before dramatically yelling “It shoulda been me!”
SO SAD!
This is just like Spiderman, when Peter tells Harry he didn’t the Green Goblin!
Stephen spoke to HollywoodLife.com on May 9 at the F**k Cancer event in Los Angeles, and he said that Tommy’s death will change Oliver “almost completely.”
“Not everyone survives the finale,” he previously told Entertainment Weekly. “If a father’s dying wish was the impetus for Oliver in season one, then the events that take place in the finale are the impetus for season two.”
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Were you devastated by Tommy’s death? Is Oliver changed forever?
