Michael Jordan is officially off the market. MJ wed his girlfriend of five years, Yvette Prieto on April 27 in a wedding for the ages. Not only did about 500 guests attend the ceremony held at a Palm Beach, Fla. church, but over 1,500 people then celebrated the new marriage at a reception held in a massive tent at the Bears Club in Jupiter, Fla. We definitely want to be like Mike!
Michael, 50, and Yvette, 35, exchanged their vows at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church (fun fact: it’s the same church that Donald Trump got married at in 2005) as famed guests like Tiger Woods, Scottie Pippen and Patrick Ewing looked on.
But the real event was the after-party! MJ and his new wife threw the reception in an enormous tent at the Bears Club, a golf course community where Michael recently built a 38,000 square foot home. How enormous you ask? The tent was 40,000 square feet, according to Yahoo. So yes, bigger than the mansion MJ just built.
“They’ve been planning for months and months,” an insider told People. “He wanted to give Yvette everything she’s ever wanted.” Mission accomplished, right?
The basketball legend popped the question to his new wife in 2011 over the Christmas holiday. They had been dating for close to three years at the time after meeting each other in a Miami nightclub in 2008.
In 2006, MJ divorced his wife, Juanita, after 16 years of marriage.
We’re happy that Mike’s found the new love of his life — every king needs a queen. We’re also happy to see that he’s still doing everything as big as possible — that’s why we love him.
