Authorities held a press conference on April 19 about the Boston bombings that took place on April 15 and they said they are still looking for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev but they have lifted the lockdown on Watertown, Mass.
A press conference with the latest information on the Boston bombings was held on April 19 and authorities said that they are still looking for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19. His brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed during a shootout with police earlier in the morning. FBI believe these men to be responsible for the Boston Marathon bombings that killed three people and left over 180 injured.
Boston Bombings Press Conference
At the press conference, the Massachusetts State Police Colonel Timothy Alben said:
“We will have one we are committed to that. We went through 20 streets with our tactical teams to ensure everyone is safe in their homes, limited searches of the home. Followed a number of leads that has taken us to Eastern Mass and none have been fruitful. Much left to be done, ballistics and forensics work. We also have a forensic scene where we have exploded and unexploded ordinates … that is still ongoing. We are going to draw back our tactical teams but for the neighbors and citizens we will have an extra 10 state patrols three shifts a day through Monday. This is a complicated investigation led by the FBI. Unfortunately we don’t have a positive result. For the sake of everyone who was hurt, killed during the marathon or the police office, we are committed to seeing a conclusion to this case. Thank you for your patience and to all of the viewers in the area who have been patient.”
Boston Bombings Suspect’s Sister Speaks Out
We told you that the sister spoke out, and said that she would never have imagined her brothers to commit such a horrible crime.
“He was a kind and loving man. I’m sorry for the families that lost their loved ones the same way I lost my loved one. This is very hurtful.”
The uncle held a press conference earlier in the day and was also shocked at the news and angered.
“These are my nephews! My brother’s sons!” Ruslan Tsarni said. “It’s a big family … the parents are still in Russia. They are from a hard-working family who ran away from Chechnya. A good family. This is terrible. I have no sympathy for them. I hate them – they murdered people!”
