On April 14, 21-year-old Buckwild star Shain Gandee was honored by in a special MTV tribute called “RV To NYC,” following his tragic death two weeks ago. Charlamagne Tha God and Lil Duval from MTV show Guy Code joined Shain and the Buckwild crew in Sissonville, WV, to eat hot dogs, go sledding in a bathtub and have dinner with Shain’s family. Shain truly lived life to the fullest.
Shain was tragically found dead in his car on April 1, following a four wheeling expedition that went wrong. Shain, his uncle David Gandee and a friend were found dead inside Shain’s truck which was trapped in a muddy ravine near his Sissonville, WV, home. They died of carbon monoxide poisoning, because the muffler of the truck was submerged in mud.
“All systems go. Shain is like a movie,” said Charlamagne, when hanging out with Shain. “Great things come from a small town.”
Shain, Cara and Joey take Charlamagne and Lil Duval around their home, where they went mud trucking, sledding down a hill in a bathtub, and they joined Shain’s family for a dinner of baked deer and squirrel dumplings. Sounds delicious!
Shain shows off his impressive dance moves for the gang, but at one point he won’t allow them to get into his beloved Broncho because they are covered in mud!
Shain, Cara and Joey then joined Charlamagne and Lil Duval for a trip to New York, where Shain danced and did his hilarious “West Virginia Wiggle.”
At a restaurant, Shain picked out his own fish and then partied hard at a nightclub.
Shain and the gang seemed seriously dazed at the bright lights of New York!
Shain wore his trademark camouflage for the duration of the show, and his co-stars even wore camouflage as a tribute at the MTV Movie Awards on April 14.
“Shain is enjoying the world. He makes you appreciate the little things in life,” said Charlamagne.
Charlamagne then added that the reports that Shain and his friends give West Virginia a bad name are untrue. “Thats a damn lie,” he said.
“Shain is something that has to be seen to believed,” says Lil Duval.
Never had a truer word been said. This special proved more than ever that Shain was a force of life and lived every day to the full. He will be truly missed.
