‘Buckwild’ Star, Shain Gandee, Dies In Tragic Accident
Buckwild star Shain is the most recent reality star to meet a tragic end. Shain appeared on the first season of MTV’s Buckwild, a reality show that follows young people in West Virginia participating in wild, reckless activities. On April 1, Shain, who was known for doing the craziest things on the show, was found dead in what appeared to be an off-roading accident.
‘Real World’ Star Joey Kovar Overdoses
Real World star Joey Kovar openly shared his struggle with alcohol and drug addiction while he appeared on the MTV show. While on The Real World: Hollywood, Joey made the responsible decision to leave the show in order to get help for his addiction problems. Still struggling with his addiction after the show, he later appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2009. Sadly, Joey succumbed to a drug overdose on August 12, 2012.
Mindy McCready Commits Suicide
Country singer Mindy also appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew to get help for her substance abuse problem. In July 2005, Mindy attempted suicide by taking a large amount of drugs with alcohol. After her boyfriend David Wilson was found dead from a self-inflicted gun shot wound, Mindy committed suicide in the same manner.
Singer/Reality Star Jennifer Rivera Dies In Plane Crash
Singer Jenni Rivera produced a reality TV show called Chiquis and Raq-C, which featured her oldest daughter. She also appeared in a spinoff reality TV series called I Love Jenni, and worked as a judge/mentor on a Mexican talent show called La Voz… Mexico, based on The Voice. On Dec. 9, Jenni died tragically when her small private jet crashed in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
