With her emotions now completely turned off, Elena became a raging bitch on the March 14 episode, and what’s a crazy bitch to do in high school? Why, become a cheerleader, of course! But Elena’s return to the proverbial pyramid came with a pretty big snag — or should I say snack. She nommed on one of her fellow competitors, then stole her ribbon. (I told you she was a bitch! Seriously, who steals someone’s ribbon?)
Anyway, Elena’s evil cheerleader antics continued as she purposely dropped Caroline (Candice Accola) on her head, then invited everyone over to the Salvatore mansion for an after party… presumably to celebrate all the head-dropping. After stripping in front of Stefan (Paul Wesley) — don’t worry, “Delena” shippers, nothing happened — Elena threatened to kill Sheriff Forbes for trying to break up her party. An Elena-Caroline cat fight ensued in the middle of the woods, where all good cat fights ensue, and I honestly didn’t know who to root for. All I know is that I loved it, and this show needs more cat fights.
Every week, if possible.
Worst. Letter. Ever.
As if her night hadn’t gone badly enough, Caroline headed back to Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) house, only to receive more bad news. Matt (Zach Roerig) handed her a letter from her beloved wolf man, which explained he can’t return to Mystic Falls as long as Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is alive. “I will always love you,” the letter read, which reduced Caroline — and any viewer with even half a soul — to a blubbering mess.
Good thing Matt was there to console her. As we all know, his hugs cure broken hearts. … And cancer.
The ‘Klauley’ Ship Sets Sail On Its Maiden Voyage
Earlier in the night, Elena suggested Caroline was feeling guilty about her feelings for Klaus; but after this week’s turn of events, something tells me Caroline couldn’t be further from the Original’s mind. After he interrogated Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to find out what she knows about Katherine, Klaus decided it would be more fun to have crazy hybrid sex with her instead.
In Klaus’ defense, he wined and dined her first — he even showed her some of his God-awful art, though sadly, no horses — before going to town on her tiny body in the middle of the living room. During post-sex pillow talk, Klaus noticed a mysterious birthmark on Hayley’s back, one he recognized as being from a familiar family of werewolves somewhere in the Louisiana area.
I guess they’re really trying to set the stage for The Originals, though I have to admit, I still don’t give two sh*ts about Hayley. I love Phoebe Tonkin, don’t get me wrong, but there’s nothing compelling about her character. It’s like she has this whole back story that I can’t seem to bring myself to care about.
Damon & Rebekah Play ‘Scooby-Doo’
And where was Damon while these shenanigans were going down? Oddly enough, he was off galavanting with Rebekah (Claire Holt) — my, those Salvatores love sharing girls — as the duo attempted to figure out who’s been stealing all the blood from nearby hospitals. Their journey eventually led them to the vampire Klaus took a bite out of earlier in the episode; it turned his name was Will, and (surprise!) he’s an old friend of Damon’s from his days in New York City.
Stefan theorized that Silas was the one stealing blood, but Damon didn’t have time to sit around and speculate; he was too busy hopping in his car with Elena for a romantic road trip to the Big Apple!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of this week’s episode? Are you a fan of the Klaus-Hayley pairing? Were you also devastated over Tyler’s letter? And what do you hope will happen between Damon and Elena in New York? Drop a comment with your theories and predictions!
