Steve Martin and Anne Stringfield, who have been married for more than four years, welcomed their first baby in December. The secretive couple has been so good at sliding under the radar, they kept their baby new a a complete secret — and there are still no reports on whether the child is girl or a boy!
Steve and Anne were seen with the child near their Los Angeles home in February, according to the Daily Mail.
“They’ve had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows,” a source told the New York Post. “Steve’s very private. They are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby.”
Steve, whose last movie was The Pink Panther 2 in 2009, was previously married to actress Victoria Tennant for nearly eight years. His wife is a writer for The New Yorker magazine, and was the one who encouraged Steve to write his autobiography, Born Standing Up.
This wasn’t the first time the couple managed to hide big news from the public! Back in July 2007, the couple secretly got married at Steve’s Los Angeles home with roughly 75 guests. Among the guests were Tom Hanks and Diane Keaton. The guests were not told it was a wedding at the time, but knew they were invited to a party. Former Nebraska Senator Bob Kerry presided over the ceremony, and Steve’s best man was Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels.
The comedian has yet to take to his twitter to confirm the good news. However he did take time to congratulate his Bluegrass Diva costar, Noam Pikelny for his Grammy nomination.
Congrats to @SteepCanyon for Bluegrass Grammy win! And to all the other nominees, including Noam Pikelny’s wonderful CD!
So HollyMoms, do you think Steve and Anne had a boy or a girl? What do YOU think of them keeping their baby a secret?
