The show’s creator says he’s spoken with several former ‘Boy Meets World’ stars about appearing on the spin-off. Who do you want to see?
Attention, 20-somethings: You now have an excuse to watch Disney Channel. Michael Jacobs, executive producer of the Boy Meets World spin-off Girl Meets World, says there’s “more than a chance” we’ll see some of our favorite characters from the original series — you know, assuming the pilot gets picked up. … Which it will.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly about whether or not we’ll see familiar faces — like Will Friedle‘s Eric, for example — Michael says, “I think there’s more than a chance.” Go on, get excited.
“Topanga has always been much more certain that Cory,” Michael explains. “Cory has always been confused. That would never stop. … Now he’s a father. Cory Matthews doesn’t know how to be a father.
As for what we can expect from Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard), she’ll be just as messed up as you’d expect their child to be.
“She is going to be much more like one than the other, but that second parent will pop up in ridiculously unexpected times and places and add to the confusion of who this character is,” Michael says, adding that we can rest assured Riley won’t be singing or dreaming of becoming famous like every other kid on Disney Channel. “That was never Boy Meets World and it’s the farthest thing that this show will be.”
HollywoodLifers, are you even more excited for the show now that you’ve heard from Michael? And which classic characters do you want to come back? Drop a comment with your thoughts!
