Robin Gibb’s Son To Be A Dad 8 Months After Bee Gees Father Dies
Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb passed away in May after battling colorectal cancer, leaving his widow Dwina and three kids. Now, his son RJ and his girlfriend Megan Golub are expecting a baby of their own — and Robin won’t be there to meet his own grandchild. Read on for more details.
Less than a year after Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb died at age 62 from complications due to colorectal cancer, his youngest son Robin-John Gibb, 30, also known as RJ, is about to be a dad himself — his girlfriend Megan Golub, 34, is pregnant! But Robin’s widow Dwina Gibb, 60, has spoken out about the sadness she feels that her late husband won’t meet his own grandchild.
“I’d spent every New Year’s Eve of our 32 years together with Robin and missed him desperately,” Dwina tells Hello! magazine about her New Year’s Eve plans this year. “To welcome in 2013, we all went outside and wrote Robin’s name in the sky with sparklers. I was thrilled about [RJ and Megan’s] baby, but sad that Robin wasn’t with me to share the happiness,” she says.

RJ echoed the feeling of loss and sadness he feels that his own son or daughter won’t meet his or her grandfather.
“Now that I’m about to become a father myself, my sadness has made way for a sense of happiness I could never have imagined,” RJ tells the magazine. “Dad loved children and the idea of having grandchildren. He would have been over the moon to see his first grandchild. It’s such a shame that he won’t be there to hold him,” he adds.
So sad that Robin won’t be around to experience the joy of being a grandfather — but we’re so happy for RJ and Megan.
