“Maybe they’re connected and don’t even know it,” a source close to the 24-year-old singer tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “Matt and her are friends and they will always be friends and she knows how much he loves his family and like her, he loves his grandparents and that’s obvious by what he did.”
The 411 On Matt Kemp And Rihanna’s Tattoos
On Jan. 13, Matt posted his new body art on Instagram that showcases a large image of his grandparents Doris and her late husband, Vernon Mukes. The slugger wrote “If it wasn’t for my grandparents I wouldn’t b where I’m at 2day! #RIP #PaPa @jun_cha.”
Rihanna apparently “loves” Matt’s new ink work and thinks he’s a stand-up guy for honoring his grandparents.
“She thinks that’s manly of him to do something like that, to pay homage to those who he loves,” the source adds.
“The tat is dope and she likes it a lot. You know Ri, she’s a fan of body art and she loves a man that’s all tatted up.”
Last September, Rihanna blasted her latest ink job when she shared an Instagram photo of her new tat which was ever so delicately drawn under her boobs!
“Goddess Isis- Complete Woman – Model for future generations,” Rihanna wrote. She also included the hashtag #GRANGRANDOLLY, a tribute to her late grandmother, who she says is “always in and on my heart.”
Does This Mean She’s Pushing Chris Away?
Now that Rihanna “loves” Matt’s new tat and feels “connected” to the 28-year-old center fielder, this could mean she’s trying to get her mind off Chris Brown.
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Rihanna almost always sends Chris, 23, sexy and even raunchy images of herself but this time, the Unapologetic artist didn’t send Chris any of her gorgeous shots she did with Complex magazine!
One of Chris’ buddies told HollywoodLife.com exclusively, ”…Of course he [saw the pics], but this time he saw it on Google alerts or whatever. Ri didn’t send it to him personally.
“He thinks she looks bomb. He always thinks she looks good no matter what. That’s his girl deep down but if you ask me, they be playing games and s**t, going back and forth.”
