Kristen Stewart has always looked up to Jodie Foster and hopes to learn from her as an actor and a director. Kristen says she wants to “learn from the best”, and is “beyond thrilled” that Jodie is not retiring.
After her emotional coming out speech at The Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 13, many were worried that Jodie, 50, was retiring from the entertainment world after she said, “I may never be up on this stage again, on any stage for that matter.” However, the award-winning actress made it clear that this was not the case at all.
Backstage, Jodie told reporters in the press room, “I could never stop acting. You’d have to drag me behind a team of horses. Change is important. And, you know, hopefully I’ll be doing different things than I did when I was 3-years-old and 6-years-old and 10-years-old and 20-years-old…My work is evolving.”
A friend of Kristen’s tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “Kristen is beyond thrilled to hear that Jodie is not quitting the business. She has the utmost respect for Jodie and is eager to work with her on another film. This time, though, she wants Jodie to direct the project.”
“Kristen knows she has a lot to learn still as an actor and obviously as a director. She’s interested in possibly directing one day, and wants to learn from the best. To her, Jodie is the best. She has always been such a dear friend to Kristen,” said the friend. “Kristen has always admired Jodie’s sense of integrity and authenticity.”
Remember, it was Jodie, who came to Kristen’s defense during the whole cheating scandal and stuck up for the young artist.
Kristen is fortunate to have such a supportive and caring friend in Jodie! How do YOU feel, HollywoodLifers? Are you excited to see Kristen and Jodie work on another film together?
