Father Reveals Name Of Tragic Indian Rape Victim

How courageous. The grief-stricken father of the courageous student, who was gang raped and beaten, has revealed her name in hopes that it will inspire Indians to continue to rise up against violence against women. Jyoti Singh Pandey, 23, died of injuries 13 days after she was lured onto a bus, where she was gang raped and beaten. Her father, Badri Singh Pandey, has revealed her name "to give courage to other women who have survived these attacks."

Five of the accused men, who Badri calls “beasts,” will appear in court for pre-trial proceedings on Jan. 7.

“I am proud of her. Revealing her name will give courage to other women who have survived these attacks,” Badri told the Sunday People. “They will find strength from my daughter.”

The brutal attack on Jyotia has caused an uproar in India, leading to calls for the six suspects in the case to be hanged.

Badri has no desire to see the faces of the men accused of sexually attacking his child — he just wants to see them punished!

“Death to all six of them,” he said. “These men are beasts. They should be made an example of and that society will not allow such things to happen.”

Jyoita died on December 29 in a specialist hospital in Singapore after a 13-day struggle to survive her injuries. Unfortunately, her injuries were so bad that her intestines had to be removed as she underwent three major surgeries. She also suffered cardiac arrest before being transported to Singapore.

“[Jyoti] had a feeding pipe in her mouth, making it difficult for her to speak,” her father said. “But she did write on some paper that she wanted to live, she wanted to survive and stay with us. But it was fate that had the last say in the end.”

So sad. We hope Jyoti’s family gets the justice they deserve.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do these suspects deserve to be hanged? Will releasing Jyoti’s name help other women?
