Kate’s spokesman released a statement: “I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rock’nRoll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family. The couple had been engaged since the summer.”
Kate met Ned, whose birth name is Ned Abel Smith, back in August of 2011, when a fire broke out at the Virgin mogul’s Necker Island estate after it was struck by lightning during Hurricane Irene. Kate was on holiday with her boyfriend at the time Louis Dowler, but began dating Ned shortly after.
No details on the wedding have been released, other than Leo walked her down the aisle and it was just their close friends and some family.
When asked about the nuptial’s, Ned’s dad had no idea! “It’s not something I know of,” he told The Sun. “But nothing would surprise me with those two.”
Kate’s first marriage was to Jim Threapleton and the two divorced in 2001. Together they have a 12-year-old daughter named Mia. Kate walked down the aisle again in 2003 when she wed director Sam Mendes and they have a nine-year-old son named Joe.
