Lindsay Lohan‘s highly anticipated Elizabeth Taylor biopic, Liz & Dick, finally premiered Nov. 25 on Lifetime — and the critics were less-than-kind to what was supposed to be the actress’ big comeback.
While HollywoodLife.com managed to find “moments of legitimate brilliance” in the film, other reviewers used more colorful phrases like “wobbly” and “absolutely terrible.”
Here are five of Liz & Dick‘s harshest criticisms:
BuzzFeed counts 32 laugh-out-loud moments in the movie, which is described as “absolutely terrible and hysterically funny.”
Entertainment Weekly calls it a “peculiar, drab, damp little TV-movie.”
People not only calls Lindsay “miscast” as Elizabeth, but also describes her performance as “reckless.”
The Hollywood Reporter proclaims Liz & Dick to be “half train wreck, half SNL skit.”
The Huffington Post says the movie is “cheap-looking” and “exploitative,” while Lindsay’s performance makes them “sad.”
