America sent two singers home tonight, as Christina premiered her new single and Jason Aldean stopped by! Were the right artists shown the door?

It was another night of insanity on The Voice, as America’s votes sent home two artists out of the Top 12! Christina Aguilera debuted her new single, “Make The World Move,” with the help of fellow coach Cee Lo Green! After a night of unprecedented voting (more than last year’s finale, says host Carson Daly), two got the boot. But let’s start from the beginning.

Christina took the stage with Cee Lo to debut her new single off of Lotus, which was released in stores today. (It’s a pretty solid album. Check it out!) Christina looked deliriously insane, and I love it. She brought us Effie Trinket-realness, and sounded divine as always. Cee Lo didn’t get much to do, but he got to wield a scepter, so that’s pretty cool.

We learned that The Voice has changed the lives of the contestants, which is apparently earth-shattering information.

First two contestants safe: Bryan Keith and Sylvia Yacoub. This doesn’t come as much of a shock, though I wonder if these two earned the most votes. It’s never explained if things are being announced in order or at random.

Jason Aldean, he of the kissing-girls-while-married kind, was joined by Dez Duron and Bryan Keith on “The Only Way I Know”. This was good, I guess. Again, not the biggest country fan here. Exciting for Dez and Bryan to have the opportunity — though I wonder how they were chosen?

Next two contestants safe: Nicholas David and Dez. I’ll admit I was pleasantly surprised to see Nicholas, even if I wasn’t surprised by the save of Dez. Girls love themselves a boring, pretty boy.

Team Cee Lo sang “Staying Alive” with their coach. It was as ridiculous as you’d expect. Also, it sounded pretty terrible.

Next two contestants safe: Trevin Hunte and Cassadee Pope. Neither of these two are shocks, either. Though, I’m surprised that Trevin wasn’t announced as safe sooner.

Team Blake sang “Life Is A Highway” with their coach, Blake Shelton. This team number was much more tighter and natural than that gonzo mess that Team Cee Lo brought to the stage.

Next two contestants safe: Terry McDermott and Amanda Brown. These two were expected to move on, though I didn’t expect it to come so close for either. This announcement left one member on each team at risk for elimination, so, perfect time for the final commercial break, during which I chewed all my nails off, worrying over Cody Belew.

Sadly, it came down to some of the more unique artists, as Cody, Michaela Paige, Adriana Louis, and Melanie Martinez awaited their fate.

Who went home: Adriana and Michaela
Who should’ve gone home: Among these four, Adriana and Michaela. But, I’d have loved to see Dez go in place of Michaela.

Did the right two go home tonight, HollywoodLifers? Let me know in the comments below!
