Demi & Zooey both belted out ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ to open the World Series — but who did it better? Watch & vote!

Demi Lovato and Zooey Deschanel may have two very different voices, but they both took on the same iconic song, performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at games three and four of the World Series. While Zooey’s performance Oct. 26 was expectedly beautiful and poignant, Demi really pushed her voice Oct. 28 to belt out every note.

Which version did you prefer? Watch them both below, and vote for the better rendition:

I feel like demi’s was more about her and her voice and less about the song. A lost of singers do that with their vocal runs and their renditions, but this song is not meant to be like that.

Zooey wasn’t emotional enough, but Demi was too exaggerated in some parts. It’s a toss up.

Demi Lovato. When I hear a live rendition of ANY song I want to be entertained. Not put into A coma. Tell Zooey D to take this crap back to Nazi Germany where emotionless renditions are considered the norm.
