The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation is the charitable arm of the Television Academy and all auction proceeds will support its education and archival programs.
Some of the VIP items up for bid include a behind-the-scenes tour of Warner Bros. Studios, complete with tickets to a taping of “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS) and a a set tour led by Primetime Emmy-winning production designer John Shaffner, concert tickets and show memorabilia for boy band sensation “Big Time Rush” (Nickelodeon), an in-house session with Jackson Galaxy, host of Animal Planet’s “My Cat from Hell,” studio visits and personal tours with popular shows such as “Community” (NBC), “Access Hollywood”(NBC), “So You Think You Can Dance” (FOX), “Young and the Restless” (CBS) hosted by series’ star Kate Linder, and a custom meal for five prepared by culinary experts at the Food Network.
“Our auctions give TV fans a wonderful opportunity to both support an important cause and bid on truly unique studio experiences and show memorabilia,” said Norma Provencio Pichardo, Executive Director of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation. “We are thankful for the television community’s continued support and generous donations, all of which help raise the funds the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation needs to keep our mission alive.”
Several items from this year’s auction allow television enthusiasts to be immersed in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, including front row seats to the Primetime Emmy Red Carpet Bleachers Arrivals; tickets to the official HBO Primetime Emmy after party complete with car service; a one-on-one meeting with Cartoon Network Studio’s Vice President of Casting and Talent Development Sharon Lieblein; exclusive invitation to the “Leverage” (TNT) season wrap party and a private lunch with “Leverage” star Aldis Hodge, just to name a few.
Bidders can also win exclusive autographed memorabilia from today’s hit shows, including a Sue Sylvester track suit signed by “Glee” (FOX) star and Primetime Emmy® Award winner Jane Lynch; a signed Stetson cowboy hat from “Dallas” (TNT); a “White Collar” (USA) poster signed by series’ star Matt Bomer; a helmet from “Sons of Anarchy” (FX) autographed by the series’ cast, and a “Teen Wolf” (MTV) autographed script among many others.
