So did they actually have sex? Much like the ending of The Dark Knight Rises, that’s up for debate, as Jenna mentioned something being “worth the wait,” yet still closed the door so she and Jake could enjoy the spacious minivan. Also up for debate: Are Jenna and Sadie (Molly Tarlov) related?! Jenna’s crazy/awesome Aunt Ally (Barret Swatek) made her crazy/awesome return this week, and it turns out she’s marrying Sadie’s uncle! I don’t think Ally is technically Jenna’s real “aunt,” but in the Awkward universe, they’re related. So as far as I’m concerned, Jenna and Sadie are too.
Side note: I’m obsessed with the who-knew trio of Ally, Lacey (Nikki DeLoach) and Val (Desi Lydic). By all logic, there’s no reason the three of them should ever be in the same room, but I’m so glad Awkward found an excuse to bring them all together. If it never happened, we never would have gotten the line “HUUUUGE VAJAYJAY,” followed by the mental image of Val climbing into Lacey’s gaping goodies. As long as you ignore the fact that Val is preparing to make a move for Jenna’s dad, the three of them really could have a good thing going.
In “WTF” news, Sadie’s twisted fling with Ricky Schwartz (Matthew Fahey) is turning into a full-blown twisted relationship. As @NoelElaineOTH pointed out to me during the episode, Sadie and Ricky’s shipper name is “Sicky” — and I think there’s a very good reason for that. When Molly told me Sadie was going to have a boyfriend this season, I did not expect it to be Ricky. This is not OK, not at all.
But the most awkward moment of the night was definitely when Matty (Beau Mirchoff) and Jenna recalled their own first time in the clubhouse. No matter how much she tells herself she loves Jake, Jenna clearly still has lingering feelings for Matty. This should get interesting…
Do you think Jenna and Jake actually had sex? Are you still hoping she’ll change her mind and be with Matty? And how do you really feel about this Sadie/Ricky situation? Drop me a comment with your most judgmental judgments!
