Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron made a surprise appearance on the ‘Today’ show this morning, March 19, and K Stew put the Twilight/Hunger Games feud rumors to rest for good.
When Kristen Stewart joined co-star Charlize Theron on the Today Show, she made sure to end rumors of a Twilight feud with stars of The Hunger Games. When asked what advice she’d give Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson in prepping for the tsunami of publicity they’re about to be slammed with, she piped up that “I can’t wait to see The Hunger Games,” opening this coming Friday, March 23. She also assured viewers “It’s obvious that the cast didn’t sign up to be the next big thing,” instead they signed on for the amazing story.
As for why Kristen was enthused to play Snow White, she revealed: “You want to join the cause – I believed in it so much.” She also explained that “it’s an action movie that had a reason. It never felt like it was a movie where it’s trying to have a strong girl character.”
Charlize Theron, who plays the evil witch, to Kristen’s heroine Snow White, explained that she was thrilled to join the film’s cast because “it was taking something iconic and turning it upside down. I was so interested in taking the Queen and messing with her.”
She also assured parents that this Snow White could still be appropriate for “your five-year-old daughter…it’s a cautionary tale. You want your five-year-old to turn out like Snow White and NOT like the evil queen!”
