Now here’s a woman who’s a real role model. Beyonce, pregnant with her first child at 30, couldn’t be happier because she’s pregnant at the right time for the right reasons.
Unlike so many hapless women in the spotlight today, who became pregnant accidentally and are now trying to cope with the tough consequences, Beyonce’s pregnancy was a well thought out decision , which – hello! – it should be!
“It was important to me that I gave myself time to focus on becoming the woman I want to be, building my empire, my relationship and my self-worth, before I became a mother,” she says. “Now God has blessed us with the ultimate.”
And waiting to make sure she’s making the right decisions is a personal trait for uber-successful Beyonce. And one that should absolutely be emulated! She applied the same thoughtfulness to her decision to marry. “We have been together since I was 20-years-old,” she says about husband Jay-Z, 41, who she married in April 2008. ” We took our time and developed an unbreakable friendship before we got married.”
The singer wanted to enjoy her time with her new husband- another smart move, girlfriends – before plunging into pregnancy and motherhood. “We focused three years on our marriage and found that it brought us an even stronger bond and connection. But like anything great and successful in your life, marriage takes hard work and sacrifice! It has to be something you and your husband deeply want!”
Well said, Beyonce! And no doubt learned after watching your own parents, Mathew and Tina Knowles, marriage fall apart.
Here’s what Beyonce says is the best thing about marriage -“The amount of personal growth you have because you can no longer hide from your fears and insecurities. There’s someone right there calling you out on your flaws and building you up when you need the support. If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you.”
From the moment that Beyonce went public with pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards , Aug. 28, she has LOVED showing off her bump and being one sexy mama.
“I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant,” she tells Bazaar. “I still rock my stilettos.”
And she’s rocking her cleavage in a Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit in these new photos by Terry Richardson.
So is a sexy pregnant-to-be mama, the way you’d want to go? Tell us now Hollymoms!
