Yes, it might be a bit nit-picky, but there are so many things from the Breaking Dawn trailer that are different from the novel!
I’m a huge fan of the book so I knew immediately when things weren’t the same! Here they are:
The tuxes: In the trailer, Charlie’s tux is clearly black. But in the book, it’s light gray. “Charlie blushed. Alice took his elbow and tugged him around in a slow spin to showcase the pale gray tux.” (P. 20)
Alice’s dress: Movie-Alice wears a short, purple dress. Book-Alice’s ensemble is a silver gown. “Alice was back before I had taken two hundred breaths in a dress that flowed down her slender body like a silvery waterfall.” (P. 44)
The wedding colors: Since Alice, Rosalie and Renee (Bella’s mom) are all wearing purple in the trailer and the flowers are white, it’s easy to assume that those are the wedding colors. But in the book, the theme is silver and white, with a tiny bit of purple (lilacs) thrown in. (P. 42)
The venue: We watch Bella and Edward say their vows outside, but we read it happening inside the Cullen’s house. (Ps. 31, 47, 48)
The attendants: The movie shows both Carlisle and Alice sitting down in the audience, but Stephenie Meyer wrote them as Edward and Bella’s best man and maid of honor respectively. (Ps. 47, 48)
The dance: Alright, we can’t really tell in the trailer, but according to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, Jacob dances with Bella first. But that’s not how it happens in the book, thank goodness. Bella and Edward share their first dance as husband and wife on page 55 and she doesn’t encounter Jacob until page 58.
Like I said, it is a bit nit-picky of me. But I’m a stickler for details!
