The Kardashians gave fashion and beauty bloggers an inside scoop on the ins and outs of creating their Kardashian Collection for Sears!
It was an eventful day for fashion and beauty bloggers at Lucky magazine’s second annual Fashion And Beauty Blog conference. Fashionistas from all over got an opportunity to learn how to build, market, and expand their brand from some of the fashion and blog industries finest. There was a host of innovative guest speakers, three in particular: Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, who gave bloggers some great advice on what it takes to build a business and how they’ve used their drive to create their brand and future endeavors. This conversation comes right on times as the Kardashian’s prepare to launch their latest and possibly biggest project thus far– the Kardashian Collection for Sears!
With three Dash stores, the Kardashians explained how they’ve always wanted to see their own clothing label on retailer’s racks, giving women the opportunity to look just as fashion forward as them. And now they’ve got just that with Kardashian Collection for Sears making not just clothes — but accessories and home decor too in a wide variety of styles and colors to reflect each Kardashian sister individually.
“I’m just like eclectic. I like to mix vintage with high end, low end, mixing it all up an making it your own style,” Kourtney said.
While Kim said she brought more of the simple yet elegant aspect to the line, Khloe was all about the accessories.
“I don’t take myself too seriously, so I like to try new things, if it works or doesn’t work it’s fashion,” Khloe stated. “I do like to play with accessories and head pieces because it’s fun. I loved doing the sunglass part of our collection and that was more fun for me I think ’cause it was so different we’ve never done anything sunglass wise.”
Kourtney also admitted to a secret obsession with home decor, a part of the brand she really enjoyed working with.
“I love doing home! I go on home design blogs way more than I go on fashion blogs!” she said. “I kinda decorate my house how I dress, a little bit vintage a little bit this of little bit that.”
They also explained how they wanted to be able to give the everyday girl luxury retail options without the high-end price tag.
“Because we own clothing stores we know how much efforts and everything cost and wholesale prices and we didn’t wanna just create a clothing line and let you pay for a name we wanted kinda to make the quality clothing for an affordable price,” Khloe said. “Sears also gives us the size range that we want. Dash to a certain size but with Kardashian collection its such a wide range so it’s accessible and that something that we really fought for.”
Guest of the FAAB conference definitely got an earful of motivation from other panelist as well. From the likes of fashion moguls Diane Von Furstenburg, Rebecca Minoff, Rachel Roy and Coco Rocha to blog innovators like Adam Rich of Thrillist.com, Roger Berman for Rachel Zoe Inc, Morgan Berry of Klout and a ton of others to elaborate on the various ways bloggers can expand in the fashion industry.
Bloggers also got a chance to interact with various brands during break as retailers from J Brand, Essie, Express, White House Black Market, and lot others held interactive venues where bloggers could create designs, take pictures, and get great goody bags!
