Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries‘s wedding may seem over-the-top and too extravagant to most people, but best-selling author, Hollywood screenwriter, and conservative social commentarian Andrew Klavan tells HollywoodLife.com the nuptials actually helped stimulate California’s suffering economy.
“It cost ten million dollars for that wedding, and every penny of that was spent on somebody doing a job. An honest job, that’s her money [and those that sponsored her] to spend as [they] want, and when she buys musicians flowers and a cake she’s stimulating the economy,” Klavan says, adding, “The rich create jobs, it’s the rich who make the economy work by spending their money on the rest of us. No one is hired by a poor person.”
So how exactly did Kim and Kris’s $10 million wedding actually help anyone?
“The wedding helped because [the people who were hired] got the money from the work: the money to decorate the place or be a musician at the wedding, or whatever they did,” Klavan explains. “Now they can spend the money on what they want. It’s all a chain reaction.”
Plus, the companies who worked with the Kardashian on the wedding now have boosted their images just by association to the famous family, which will be featured on blogs, news programs and their reality show.
Says Klavan, “When you work with a celebrity like that, it raises your profile and makes you into a desired person and that’s going to help the economy.”
