Jordache is back in a big way, and they’ve enlisted Katrina Bowden as the star of the television campaign, in hopes to revive the denim brand. The 30 Rock star who plays the sexy assistant on the NBC series with co-star Tina Fey, will serve as a fashion-forward time traveler in the 30 second clip!
During the duration of the commercial, the New York denim brand’s progress development will be displayed in a sort of time warp. Katrina will be pictured strutting her stuff during the the Seventies in a bombshell Farrah Fawcett get-up, which will then move into the Eighties, exhibiting the acid-washed trend! The commercial then moves into the Nineties’ boyfriend fit phrase and then into the modern day skinnies that are all the rage today.
“[Viewers are] going to see the history of denim, in a sense, played out in front of them,” explained Sam Sohaili of the campaign to WWD.com, who is the creative director of New York-based branding and advertising firm Ink & Co. He also added “They’ll understand this denim has been there and involved the customer all the way.”
As well as TV broadcasts, the brand’s multimillion-dollar campaign for this season has found seized a social media plan; Facebook users can post pictures of themselves rockin’ Jordache jeans!
Liz Berlinger, the president of Jordache Enterprises in New York, explains that television broadcasting is the strongest way to spread the word of the all-American brand and that the brand is being sold at Wal-mart, word needs to spread nationally!
Bowden is the newest celeb for Jordache. Britist actress Elizabeth Hurley was the face for the brand in 2006. In 2008, German model and Project Runway host Heidi Klum was photographed lounging in curve-hugging Jordache jeans!
The company figures that by choosing Katrina, who was a model before acting, as the new face and body of Jordache, the brand is targeting the all-American girl. Katrina is perfect for the role because she will represent each decade in the 30 seconds-with her acting and modeling skills!
