The red-haired star partnered with the hair care brand Head & Shoulders and is helping to bring their Good Girlfriend Guide to life. The guide, in e-book form, will offer advice on everything from beauty tips to relationships.

Learn why Alyson Hannigan got involved with the brand, two of her top beauty tips and how she manages to get ready with a two year-old daughter afoot!

So what made Alyson join the Head & Shoulders team in penning this guide?

“Well, I just loved the idea. You know, I am super happy to be partnered with Head & Shoulders, they’re such a great company,” said Alyson. “I’m definitely one of those people that loves advice and loves giving advice, and just loves knowing any sort of tips that people can give me. I was an only child, and hated it and always wanted sisters and you know, that’s just something you would get with your sisters. They would pass down the ‘oh, this works with that,’ or whatever it is. So, this will be my little glimpse into that.”

Two top beauty tips that Alyson can share with you:

1. “One tip that I learned is you can take a business card or something similar and put it between your eyelid and eyelash for mascara,” explains Alyson. “I have done it with post-it notes; I fold it in half to make it a little more firm.”
2. “In a pinch, you can always use your lipstick as blush.”

Go to the Head & Shoulders Facebook page and submit your own top beauty tips and advice and YOU can get in the Good Girlfriend Guide!

Now for all of your HollyMoms out there, how does Alyson star in the hit show How I Met Your Mother, film the upcoming American Reunion movie and stay on top of her daily routines with an adorable two year-old?

Alyson explains, saying, “Use a two-in-one, because sometimes you don’t have the luxury of shampoo and conditioner, so Head & Shoulders has a lovely two-in-one that you can use and [snaps] done! One shampoo, one rinse and you’re conditioned as well.”

Her daughter even tries to get in on the beauty action! “If I try to do the makeup, she’s right there with me. So I have to do it as quick as possible, otherwise it’s going to be a big cleanup, because she wants to use it all too!”
