The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 London premiere has begun and there are no words to describe the epic proportions to which the studio and celebs alike have gone to make this quite possibly the biggest movie opening of all time…and we thought Twilight was a big deal!
First, Trafalgar Square in central London has been shut down entirely for Harry Potter. (Typically, it’s used for political demonstrations and New Years’ Eve celebrations!)
Plus, there is an unbelievable guest list packed with the who’s who of London’s A-list stars including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom McFly, Ollie Locke, Mollie from The Saturdays, Darren Criss, Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Michael Gambon, John Hurt, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Robbie Coltrane, Julie Walters and Tom Felton.
Not only are the celebs expected at the premiere comparable to those at the Academy Awards, but each cast member is arriving individually. Typically, leading actors arrive within seconds on each other and walk down the carpet within arm’s length, but that’s not the case with Harry Potter!
Ultimately, the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 premiere marks the end of an era. The first Potter film hit theaters in 2001 — and now, 10 years later, we’ve reached the finale. These fans started their love far before Twilight even existed — making it quite possibly the most epic premiere of all time.
