Charlie is set to be roasted on Comedy Central September 19, the same night Ashton Kutcher takes over for him on ‘Two and a Half Men’. Which, if any, will you be watching?
Charlie Sheen is at it again! The actor is continuing to torment the CBS network with news that The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen will premiere the same night Two and a Half Men returns to the airwaves sans Charlie. The sitcom series, which Charlie starred in for eight years until he was fired earlier this year, found a replacement in Ashton Kutcher.
Ashton’s much-anticipated debut appearance made headlines and was all the buzz until Charlie found a way to steal the spotlight. The guest-of-honor is scheduled to be “roasted” the evening of September 10 in Los Angeles, but the taping won’t air on television until September 19 at 10pm, just in time to divert the attention away from Kutcher who will premiere just an hour before. Will he “win” again by stealing Ashton’s media thunder?
The comedians and stars set to poke fun at the 45-year-old actor are yet to be announced. But there is some talk that Jeffrey Ross, Patton Oswalt, Jimmy Kimmel, and even Lisa Lampanelli will participate.
According to the head of Comedy Central’s original programming and production, Kent Alterman, “Charlie has assured us that nothing will be off limits in this roast… which scares even us.”
Uh-oh! Will Charlie be game to endure the punishment?
“You could say I’ve been providing kindling for this roast for a while,” Sheen said in a statement. “It’s time to light it up. It’s going to be epic.”
There is no doubt that this will be an evening of comic heckling.
