The guys weren’t happy during the June 27 episode of The Bachelorette when Ashley Hebert confessed to them that she had been carrying on a love affair with player Bentley Williams since the beginning. They were so upset that one guy, Ryan “Mickey” McLean, left — while the others sat around questioning Ashley’s intentions to really find love. Contest Lucas Daniels was one those guys who felt betrayed by Ashley, especially after they had gone on such a perfect date earlier that day in Hong Kong!
“We lead up to the rose ceremony and she dropped the ball telling us about Bentley, throwing some curve balls at us. I was pissed!” Lucas admits in his personal video blog on Warner Bros Bachelor site. “I was like, ‘Listen, we just got off this wonderful date and then this comes to my attention.'”
At first Lucas was so upset that he verbally attacked Ashley during the group talk in episode 6 — but now he realizes that Ashley’s honesty proved that she had sincere objectives. “I was pissed, but I commend her,” he explains. “She’s so courageous. It was so brave sitting down with a bunch of guys and letting us know that, so I commend her for that.”
Plus he just loved getting to know Ashley during his first one-on-one date! “My date with Ashley in Hong Kong was absolutely wonderful,” Lucas gushes. “We walked the streets, ate some street food, got to ride in a huge jug boat, had a wonderful steak there, had some cocktails.”
“We got to know each other finally,” continues Lucas. “I got my first dance, my first kiss. We had just a wonderful time!”
And Lucas is ready to move forward and work on his relationship with Ashley. “I’m just ready to go to Taiwan, start fresh,” he says. “I want to get to know her more. I just can’t wait to get there, and I can’t wait to see her!”
BFFs — do you think Lucas should have forgiven Ashley for the Bentley situation?
