The ‘Lost’ star can forget about maternity leave — she has signed up to star in a new movie just a month after giving birth to her baby son.

Evangeline Lilly will play an Elf called Tauriel in the Lord Of The Rings prequel The Hobbit — alongside another Elfish new parent, Orlando Bloom! Will she be a love interest for his character Legolas?Sadly, the answer is “no” says director Peter Jackson: “No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas. What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life.”

Wouldn’t an Elfish love story have been great?!

The movie is shooting in New Zealand right now — so Evangeline will be heading Down Under with boyfriend Norman Kali and her brand new baby — whose name we STILL don’t know!

We can’t wait to see The Hobbit, which stars many of the cast and characters of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, including Orlando Bloom, Sir Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood and Cate Blanchett!

Especially now that new mommy Evangeline’s going to be in it too!

Will you see it?
