There are plenty of ways to shed the pounds off for good — we’ve got some great tips!
Kirstie Alley has allegedly gained 12 pounds back since the May 24 finale of Dancing With The Stars, but fitness experts say there are ways for her to have kept off the weight!
Kirstie, 60, has had trouble staying slim thanks to food being a source of comfort for her.
“[Kirstie] has been consoling herself by eating the best food [New York] has to offer,” a source tells the National Enquirer.
How can you keep off the weight if you have a sudden slimdown, as Kirstie did on DWTS? We talked to Steve Jordan, America’s Fitness Ambassador, who told us weight is especially hard to keep off for people who have yo-yo dieted, as Kirstie has. His best advice? She needs to be inspired by her past loss, but must start with a new plan.
“If you’ve started gaining the weight back like Kristie has, you need to start fresh today,” he says. “Don’t beat yourself up for what you did yesterday because that isn’t going to serve you. Make a declaration and / or agreement with yourself and begin to take on the healthy habits that got your to lose the weight. Now with Kristie since she was dancing on the show, she should dance daily. There a plenty of places to go dancing these days. And if there isn’t, putting on your favorite music for an hour walk or run is great — no matter where you live.”
His biggest tip? Pinpoint your motivation for weight loss and keep that goal clearly in mind.
“To do this you have to have a strong reason why you want to keep the weight off,” he says. “For example, ‘I want to keep the weight off because I feel sexy wearing skirts.’ Or ‘I want to keep the weight off because I like having energy to get through my day and have some extra for my family.’ Whatever your reason is, write it down and put it somewhere — like on the refrigerator or on your desk — so you can have something to remind you daily.”
