Meet the Careys — three boys and three girls born last week in the Gosselin’s home state of Pennsylvania.
Stacey and Brendan Carey, of Feasterville, Pennsylvania, were officially introduced to the world today after welcoming their new set of sextuplets last week at Abington Memorial Hospital near Philadelphia. The babies, Emma, Samantha, Olivia, John,Patrick and Connor, all weighed between one and two pounds, but were born premature in the 27th week of pregnancy, leaving them in critical condition.
“They are all responding to therapy but they are in no way out of the woods,” Dr. Gerard Michael Cleary of the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit said according to the Huffington Post.
But, Stacey, 33, who is a teacher and Brendan, 41, a bar tender, feel extremely blessed — even if six babies weren’t necessarily in their future plans. “We weren’t expecting a family this big, but we’re happy now,” Stacey, who conceived with the help of fertility treatments, said. “I was ‘very, very surprised’ when I was told I was having sextuplets.”
The Careys already have a 16-month-old daughter Julianna — not to mention some stiff Pennsylvania competition. The state already houses the Gosselin brood, who are the most famous sextuplets (and twins!) around.
Will the Careys want their own reality show? And would you watch?
