The daughter of domestic goddess Martha Stewart opens up about her struggle to have baby Jude!
In her late thirties, Alexis Stewart decided she was ready to become a mother and began spending up to $27,000 every month for IVF procedures, plus $6,000 for medications. Alexis welcomed baby Jude, 3 months, on Mar. 8 after she was born via gestational surrogate.
It wasn’t until she turned to the New Hope Fertility Center in Manhattan and Dr. John Zhang, that she was able to get her costs down to $5,000 monthly for treatments. She jokingly referred to getting pregnant as her “other job” on her Sirius radio show, ‘Whatever with Alexis and Jennifer.’ “But if you’re lucky enough to be able to afford it and you have time, what’s the downside?,” the new mom told People magazine.
After the long wait, Alexis is preparing to spoil little Jude.“I took ice skating lessons all winter so I can skate with her,” she says. “I want her to do everything.”
