The testimony of Casey Anthony’s brother Lee in the murder of Caylee harms Casey’s defense!
Lee Anthony, Casey‘s older brother, took the stand today to corroborate his mother Cindy‘s story that she hadn’t seen her 2-year-old granddaughter Caylee in weeks, around the time of her disappearance — and when questioned about her whereabouts, Casey had merely given excuses.
Lee testified that before he knew 2-year-old Caylee was missing, he had been on MySpace and Facebook trying to guess the location of his sister and niece, but to no avail. He texted her, but she would only respond with ‘I’m busy. I’m out with my friends. I’m doing my own thing.’ “She hung up on me,” he said.
The next time he saw Casey was at the family’s home on July 15, 2008, when he pulled up and smelled a “very potent, very strong” smell coming from Casey’s white Pontiac in the driveway.
Here’s where things got ugly — Lee described a “combative” encounter inside the house, where he offered to go pick up Casey from the babysitter, since there was absolutely no reason not to. The 25-year-old, however, gave the same story she had been giving her mother, which was that “she didn’t want to disturb Caylee.”
Casey’s trial continues for first degree murder of her daughter. She gave her brother a weak smile as he exited the courtroom, but he did not reciprocate.
