Amber admits that it was the goal all along to give custody of Leah to her baby daddy Gary Shirley: ‘She’s with her father now so I can get through all my legal issues.’ Good move on Amber’s part?
With Gary Shirley‘s May 25 arrest and custody of 2-year-old Leah up in the air, Teen Mom star Amber Portwood, 21, is dealing with a lot of issues — not to mention her own legal problems! She opened up to E! Online and filled us in on all her court drama, including baby Leah’s whereabouts!
“Our goal was always to switch custody over to Gary so that I can focus on and deal with my legal s***,” Amber explains. “She’s with her father now so I can get through all of my legal issues and hopefully we can be a proper family.”
But in order to be a ‘proper family’ Amber and Gary need to get their priorities straight! Enough with the arrests and court hearings, guys!
As for Gary’s May 25 arrest for driving with a suspended liscense, Amber says it had NOTHING to do with them fighting: “We were bored and had nothing else to do,” the MTV star jokes. (Not funny considering the couple could lose custody of Leah is Child Protective Services follows through with their petition to relocate her.)
“We were in Ellis, Ind., because we were driving around looking for apartments for me to move into,” Amber says. “We had pulled over on the side of the road in front of this one place. We were like the only car on the road and it was late, and the police station was right across the street.”
“So, of course the cop came over and asked us what was going on. But we were not fighting. Gary and I haven’t had a major fight in two years.” Really? We’re not sure about that one, Amber, but hey, if that’s the case, we’re happy!
“They can call me a bitch,” Amber admits of the ‘haters,’ “I am a bitch. I’m one way with haters, but I’m another person when I’m with my daughter.”
Do you think it was a good idea for Amber to hand custody of Leah over to Gary voluntarily?
