Brad Pitt, Dad-Of-Six, Reveals The Surprising Reason Why He Always Wanted A Huge Family!

SplashNews.comThe man who makes $20 million a movie would rather be cooking breakfast in his kitchen, attempting to control the chaos of six kids reaching for their own stack of pancakes!

The dad-of-six, 47, might have grown-up in small family, but that’s not the case now! “I know it seems extreme from the outside, but I’ve always kind of operated this way,” the Tree of Life star tells the Associated Press of his big brood with Angelina Jolie, 35. “When I know, I know, and why mess around?”

Well he certainly didn’t mess around! Brad and Angie met on the set of their hit movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005, while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston, and have since welcomed six kids — three adopted Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, and three biological, Shiloh, almost 5, and 2-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

And although Brad didn’t have a very large family growing up, he got to experience the craziness of one first-hand thanks to his good pal.

“I had a friend who had a big family when I was a kid,” Brad explains. “I just loved the chaos around the breakfast table and the fighting and the ribbing, and the mom making pancakes for everyone or the dad making pancakes.”

“I just decided then if I was ever going to do it — this left some indelible mark on me — if I was ever going to do it, that’s the way I was going to do it.”

And believe it or not, now kid master Brad’s speciality is breakfast and he inspires his own “chaos around the breakfast table.” We can only imagine…

As for his life as an actor, daddy Brad has decided that his future selection of roles will be determined by his kids, who he simply wants to make proud.

“I think my focus before was more irreverence, by nature,” the Oscar nominee says. “I’m a dad now. It’s more important to me that if I’m going to do the film, there’s something I can bring to it, it’s not generic. And most of all, I’m painfully aware that my kids are going to see these when they’re older, and I want them to understand something about their dad, and I want them to be proud of their dad.”

And the six pancake-loving Jolie-Pitts might even be able to watch mommy and daddy on-screen at the same time — once again.

“We’re not ones to repeat ourselves, but we’d like to, because right now, we’re hopscotching with films so one can be with the kids and one’s free to work,” Brad explains of re-teaming up with Angie. “And why aren’t we doing them together? Why aren’t we doing everything together?”

We love how Brangelina make sure someone is at home with their kids, even if it means skipping out on jobs. Maybe Brad should test his pancake skills on screen!
