Kate and William became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their Royal Wedding, so what do they call each another around the house? Read on and you’ll see they have a sweet sense of humor!
Kate Middleton and Prince William took on new names when they wed, and a new report says they don’t call each other “Duke” and “Duchess” when it’s just the two of them hanging around their farmhouse in Wales. They have their own down-to-earth pet names for their time behind closed doors!
Their new last name is Cambridge, but Us Weekly reports that Kate, 29, and William, 28, reach back to another part of William’s royal heritage at their home in Anglesey, near his Royal Air Force base.
“For day-to-day life, they are the Cambridges,” a source tells Us. “But behind closed doors they are calling each other Mr. and Mrs. Wales. It’s cute.”
We love it! It’s a wonderful reminder of William’s beloved mom, Diana, who was known as the Princess of Wales when she married his father Prince Charles.
As a search and rescue pilot, William “still be known as Flight Lieutenant William Wales,” a royal spokesperson tells Us.
At the wedding reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth, William delighted guests when he said, “I’d like to raise a toast to Mrs. Wales.”
One said that it all shows that Kate and William will be “a very low-key couple. They want to be very down to earth.”
