And, really, who would you trust to throw a wild Mexican party than the Cul de Sac Crew’s resident walker of shame?
May 5 is just a few days away, and unless you don’t speak a single word of Spanish, you know what that means — it’s almost Cinco de Mayo! But don’t freak out if you haven’t started planning for the high holiday just yet. HollywoodLife.com chatted with Cougar Town star Busy Philipps to get her three-step guide to the ultimate Cinco de Mayo celebration. Prepare to make some awesome mistakes.
Arizona-born Busy, who recently teamed up with Pepto-Bismol to help raise piñata-smashing awareness, admits to waiting 3-1/2 hours for a table at a Mexican restaurant one Cinco de Mayo. “It’s always been one of my favorite holidays,” she tells us.
And since nobody parties like Busy, here are her three must-haves for any last-minute Cinco de Mayo celebration:
- Chips & salsa: “It’s the first thing. … You absolutely need it.”
- Guacamole: “Another must-have! It’s easy to make, but if you can’t figure it out, you can always buy some at the store. Most grocery stores carry pretty decent store-bought guacamole.”
- Piñata(s): “My daughter and I are going to make our own piñatas this year. She wants to do something ambitious like Dora the Explorer, but I think we’ll end up making like … a ball. Because I know how to do that.”
Now go, HollywoodLifers. Go celebrate the holiday as only Busy can prepare you!
