Bethenny Frankel is a self-made reality-star queen. And now comes the news that her Skinnygirl cocktail line sold, the business went for a staggering price — an estimated $120 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter!
The sale to Fortune Brands’ Beam Global means Bethenny has built an empire that no other reality star can compete with. In 2010, the Kardashian family raked in $65 million — while Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino made a measly $5 million on a book deal, workout supplement and vodka endorsement.
Unlike her former co-stars on The Real Housewives of New York City, Bethenny had a plan as soon as she signed on with Bravo — she was going to optimize the experience to build her business ventures. The network allowed her to plug products as part of her contract.
Five years ago, Bethenny’s biggest claim to fame was participating in Celebrity Apprentice: Martha Stewart. Today, the 40-year-old mother and wife is filming the third season of her own reality show Bethenny Ever After, has three best-selling books — and has a talk show rumored to be in the works.
But for the woman who five years ago barely had enough in her pocket to pay her rent, Bethenny doesn’t let the success get to her head. Heck, she still shops on the sales rack!
“Everything I buy is on sale,” Bethenny admits. “I never pay full price.” But when she sells, it’s for top dollar!
